Come and find out how the Cornerstone Partnership virtuality reality (VR) programme is supporting fostering agencies to achieve their business objectives by increasing the rate of successful foster care recruitment and the reduction in placement breakdown. The VR experience achieves these outcomes by changing the attitudes and behaviours of foster parents, social workers and other individuals involved in determining and providing care for vulnerable children, resulting in:

  • Improved understanding of children's experience and how it influences their behaviour: ensuring decisions reflect the best interest of the child.

  • Increasing empathy and attitude change; facilitating more connected relationships between carers and children capable of withstanding challenging behaviour. All of which aids post placement support and ultimately improved placement stability.

  • Improvements in recruitment conversion rates.

  • A powerful assessment tool: revealing a richer insight into potential carers strengths and limitations helping with matching and early identification of support needs as well as earlier identification of unsuitable candidates.

  • Train and retain: by improving motivation and resilience of social workers and carers.

  • Leading edge - participating in a new innovative approach to contribute to best practice.

This workshop is for staff from NAFP member agencies only (maximum of two places per agency) and free of charge. If delegate places are cancelled at less than one week’s notice, NAFP reserve the right to make a £25 admin charge per place.
